CURMUDGEON POKES WITH THE
X-STREAM
SPREADER
Yes, boys and girls the tiny plastic
X-STREAM device will flog your shot into a quick-opening & larger
patterns. When targets are CLOSE
the X-STREAM device becomes a golden moment for your shooting.
Why, only the other day CURMUDGEON was faced with a silly Sporting
Clays target that damn near ran him over.
Why the little pest crossed quickly - right to left and vanished like
a wisp of smoke. CURMUDGEON
reached into his gross bag of tricks.
He found a handful of 20-gauge #9 lead shot X-STREAM loads.
Tipping the Beretta 20-gauge O/U
CURMUDGEON dropped the ¾ ounce loads into the chambers.
The next crosser and the next were pounded into dust.
Yes, my friend – unique targets call for special loads.
Most satisfactory, I tell you.
The tiny X-STREAM device will fit into
16-gauge and 12-gauge plastic shotcups.
Also the X-STREAM device drops into cardboard loads of 12, 16 and 20
gauge. With 20-gauge and
28-gauge plastic shotcups the reloader may take the RELOADER’S SNIPS
(#SNIPS) and nip away the exterior lobes thus providing a snug fit.
(The 28-gauge requires the lobes be snipped away plastic shotcup or
no shotcup). So, 12-gauge thru
28-gauge!
The tiny X-STREAM device weighs almost
nothing (6 grains, about the same as two tiny pellets) and thus not raise
the PSI of a load. However, the physical volume of the X-STREAM spreader
occupies the same space as 1/8 ounce of fine lead shot.
So once in awhile a minor “fit” accommodation may needed.
(Any clever reloader resolves this
one in seconds.) With gas seals,
cork, fiber, & cardboard combinations – only a minor change – say the ¼”
cork becomes a 1/8” cork. Most
plastic wads will squeeze down allowing the load to be crimped without other
accommodation.
Don’t get caught without it.
