The MG410 is a shorter length wad overall making it an ideal wad for light loads in the 2-1/2” .410. However, we also use it with great success in the 3” with heavier loads - up to 11/16 ounce.
The reloader again finds that all the shot for the load will not fit into the shotcup - by design. The MG410 has a longer cup than some industry wads, allowing a larger percentage of the shot load to be held within the cup. Roughly 50% of the shot is outside the cup for fringe-ring development. The remaining 50% is contained within the shotcup for core center density. This is a fine combination for the 2-1/2”.
This clever wad extends modern technology to the .410 gauge. Pattern control and extension of the outer fringe now makes the tiny .410 a much stronger and predictable shooting gauge.
