A versatile trap, skeet, sporting clays and game load wad for 1-ounce in taper-wall hulls (Win AA-HS & Rem STS) and 1-1/8 ounce in straight-wall hulls (Fiocchi & Federal). This wad has become Curmudgeon’s “sky-sweeper” sporting clays load. If the clay is ranging “out” there at a significant distance, the VP15 simply “sweeps” it away. VP15 overall length is 1.700” with a multi-folding cushion section (.660”) plus shotcup depth of .790” and four “quick-opening” petals. The gas seal is the standard Helarco deep-set .730” diameter & .160” deep. The VP15 wad reloads best at 1-1/8 ounce lead in the straight-wall (Fiocchi, MultiHull, Federal) shotgun hull and 1-ounce with taper-wall hulls (Win WAA-HS & Remington STS) target hulls. The propellants utilized in straight-wall hulls at 1-1/8 ounce loads are the typical fast burn-rate powders plus intermediate burn rate propellants. Current velocity charts range from 1180 FPS to 1325 FPS in 1-1/8 ounce loads.
