Very Disappointed | 12/21/2015 |
I purchased this ammunition for one reason, it was cheaper than most 3 inch magnum shells and I had been without a job for two years. Bad move!!! This is a lead shot shotshell and I used it for squirrel hunting thinking I could get by with a cheaper shell. I first noticed the problem when I still had a few shells from a box of Winchester 3 inch, #5 shot, copper plated shells I was using up and could compare the two side by side. I had absolutely no problem knocking squirrels from the tops of large oaks and pecan trees with the Winchester and killing them but as soon as I switched to the Fiocchi, Golden Pheasant, Nickel Plated, 3 inch, #5 shot, 1.75 oz of shot and I was no longer killing the squirrels with the first shot. The first shot would knock the squirrel out of the tree and I would inevitably fire at least one more shot while the squirrel was running away and sometimes two. Later in the season, I went to Missouri to squirrel hunt, reluctantly taking the same shells and the same thing happened again. This time it was costing me more than just the shells. I had purchased an out of state hunting license, three days in a Holiday Inn, gas, food and beverages and I was loosing squirrels left and right. I suppose the real sadness was I was shooting game that was running away and suffering a slow death. Bottom line...do not purchase this ammunition just to skimp on a few dollars, it will cost you money in the long run and you will end up with lost game. | ||
