7/8 ounce sporting loads are becoming increasingly popular with clays shooters... And why not? If you would like12 gauge loads with virtually no recoil and still retain ultra-competitive velocities, 7/8 oz. competition wads are your answer. For double shot stations (and following pairs) the reduced recoil of 7/8 loads will get you on the second target faster and more accurately. To achieve consistent and complete powder burn cycles 7/8 ounce loads need specialized wads and gas seals. Specific G/BP components produce high velocity 7/8 oz. loads for trap, sporting clays and skeet.

How does it work?

The V-Cage, as found on the Short Range Crusher and Zero, is a two-phase compression section. The first section compacts during the loading process to accommodate the payload and crimp. The second section, then, is fully dedicated to absorbing recoil when the shell is fired. Since the recoil section is uncompromised during loading it absorbs a great deal of felt recoil. Thanks to this unique design, shooters start the second round of shooting as fresh as their first round. The Short Range Crusher and the Zero are the wads of choice for recoil-sensitive shooters, dove hunters and those participating in 300 round events. Competition approved V-cage wads are designed for maximizing velocity out of every load combination. This gives the shooter a better opportunity to break the target by stabilizing leads, increasing pellet energy and maintaining dense patterns. Preset fractures constructed within the shotcup for a rapid expansion and with controlled long- range patterns.

The underside of the gas seal has 25 little plastic "teeth" to displace the powder in strategic areas, accommodating a very even, extended duration burn. This type of burn-rate is necessary for extremely high velocity loads such as the 3 1/4 DRAM 1 OZ. LOADS favored by experts. Three-stage cage design reduces recoil by collapsing progressively under acceleration and minimizes jarring effect that deforms pellets in other types of shotcups. Helix Cushion Driver-24

The Helix Cushion Driver-24 is predominantly a 1-ounce wad, but its flexible "Helix" cushion section makes it applicable for loads from 7/8-ouce all the way up to 1-1/8 ouce. The soft, pliable cushion system is designed to provide the shooter with reduced recoil. #020HCD24
