CLBC: Cushioned Limited Bore Contact Wad

cushionedlbc.JPG (15970 bytes)

The CLBC is capable of loading all shot metals/types presently on the market. The CLBC wad loads well in 2 ¾", 3" and, with gas seals, 3 ½" hulls. The CLBC’s surface-contact-reducing ribs provide LIMITED BORE CONTACT and thus reduce drag and resistance. Made of a super new hi-energy plastic resin, the thin, strong walls of the CLBC hold up well to the rigors of steel shot. While the plastic material of these wads is soft, it is very strong and unyielding to tough pellets.

Shot Capacities:
STEEL SHOT: capacity is 7/8 ounce – excellent for hard-hitting waterfowl loads.
LEAD SHOT: capacity (level) is 1 ¼ ounce and can be raised to 1-3/8 oz. or more in longer hulls.
BISMUTH SHOT: capacity (level) is 1-1/8 ounce and can be raised to 1 ¼ ounce in longer hulls.
Dimensions and Specifications:
GAS SEAL: Arch dome, smooth; .720" diameter.
OVERALL LENGTH: 1.805"
SEAL TO CUP BOTTOM: .675"
SHOTCUP DEPTH: 1.130"
SHOTCUP TYPE: Unslit cylinder - must be slit prior to loading

Note: LBC wads are designed to be sold as an unslit wad. This feature allows for customized pattern performance by allowing the handload to choose the optimum slit configuration.   The wad must be slit into 2-6 petals and at least 75% of the total length of the shotcup section.

21st Century technology: Unique contact reducing rings limit bore friction and drag, like a bearing surface.   See BP’s Status of Steel Manual for more data & loading information.
