LOAD OF THE WEEK- 01/15/2009

Need a stout 12-gauge 3-1/2” steel shot DO-ALL load?  How about a 1 ¼ oz steel shot cool weather load moving at 1550 FPS?   This particular load is extremely CONSISTENT in speed and pressure readings PLUS being remarkably straightforward to load.   Test loads were fired using BB size steel shot.  Tests demonstrate velocity extremes within a tight narrow band of seven feet per second!   (By the way, the Federal primer, the new FED239 demonstrates the same expected pressures as the FED209A.  A slight chemical alteration.)

A crushing field load for large mallards and tough geese.
