Multi-Metal unslit wad for 20ga
The CTPS 20ga 19mm is a cushioned type Multi-Metal wad. The CTPS 20ga is designed to reduce spike pressures with a robust energy-absorbing cushion section. Thinner wad walls allow for expanded shot volumes. This wad is designed for higher velocity loads and lighter shot charges. The maximum steel shot capacity is 246 grains (9/16 oz.). Maximum recommended shot size is #4. If you are looking for a 20ga wad with greater bore protection capabilities, we recommend that you look at the BP2090.
The CTPS 20ga is unslit. It must be slit prior to loading with 2-4 slits and at least 85% of the total length of the shotcup (0.80"). Failure to slit the wad will produce a potentially dangerous slug-type load that will not release the shot.
THIN MYLAR: The CTPS-20 is designed for non-toxic field loads. However, tungsten and steel shotshell pellets can escape the wad through wad slits or simply through the chaos of the controlled explosion within the shotgun's bore. As an insurance policy to reduce the chances of barrel damage due to abrasive pellets, we highly recommend the use of Thin Mylar wraps inside the shotcup. Thin Mylar could be the difference between an unscathed bore and one with scoring. Thin Mylar may be added to any of our tested loads.
Max Cup Capacity: 240 gr Steel #5 | 320 gr Bismuth #6 | 720 gr. TSS 18.0 #7
NOTE: No wad can completely eliminate the risk of scoring or abrasion. Pellet materials harder than your gun's barrel can still cause damage. Follow only tested and published load data. READ AND UNDERSTAND A RELEVANT LOADING MANUAL BEFORE YOU START TO LOAD.
