SpheroTungsten Super Max-18 shot is the world's densest shot material. This shot is not plated, but it appears to be because of the smooth finish. It is finely polished to enhance surface finish and reduce abrasiveness. The result is a rich, fine appearance. Many adjectives can apply to this shot, but we just call it perfect.
This is the densest shot our ballistic lab has ever tested. Super Max-18 shot is manufactured by the world's premier non-toxic shot manufacturer and it is used and tested by the greatest cartridge manufacturers in the U.S. and around the world.
Our SpheroTungsten shot is made by the world's leading manufacturing of non-toxic shot. A note on industry manufacturing standards: Unlike steel shot, pure tungsten is so very hard that it cannot be formed to absolute precision. As a result, industry standards allow for slight diameter variation between lots. This can account for variations in pellet count per ounce. Overall density is measured as an aggregate density, which is based on all pieces measured in each individual sample test.
