SpheroTungsten Super Max-18 #7 (2 lbs)
SpheroTungsten Super Max-18 shot is the world's densest shot material. This shot is not plated, but it appears to be because of the smooth, lustrous finish. It is finely polished to enhance surface finish and reduce abrasiveness. The result is a rich, fine appearance. Many adjectives can apply to this shot, but we just call it perfect.
This is the densest shot our ballistic lab has ever tested. Super Max-18 shot is manufactured by the world's premier non-toxic shot manufacturer and it is used and tested by the greatest cartridge manufacturers in the U.S. and around the world. This global reputation for excellence means that each production lot is certified to be the finest and most consistent shot on the planet. SpheroTungsten technology creates Super Max-18 shot to maximum density of 18 grams per cubic centimeter. The intellectual property of the manufacturing process of this nearly perfect sphere is protected by a U.S. patent.
Loading: SpheroTungsten Super Max can be loaded like any other 18.0 density tungsten super shot.
Packaging: This premium shot is packaged in our new Sturdy-Pak bottle, which is almost indestructible and features a convenient pour spout for easy, spill-resistant loading. *18 grams/cc (about 40% denser than magnum lead)*USFWS approved non-toxic
*Diameter = .100"
*Shipping: For insurance purposes, this product cannot ship via USPS. Select "STD" shipment mode.
A note on industry manufacturing standards: Unlike steel shot, pure tungsten is so very hard that it cannot be formed to absolute precision. As a result, industry standards allow for slight diameter variation between lots. This can account for variations in pellet count per ounce. Overall density is measured as an aggregate density, which is based on all pieces measured in each individual sample test.

Aerial Water fowl tennis racket | 10/27/2022 |
I am an avid sporting clays shooter, but I had never been water fowling. A friend invited me, so I called BP to ask for advice on the most effective, not cheapest shot, for the hunt. Eric at BP suggested Sphero Tungsten Matrix 18 as the most effective shot available. Covid scarcities limited my only choices to #7 & #9 shot. I was skeptical but Eric assured me 1 oz of #7, 220 pellets, at 1395 FPS would hammer geese at 60 yards! TM18 #7 pellets weigh approximately the same as #3.5 lead pellets. The first day in the field we were shooting over decoys at 15-40 yards. The second day was pass shooting at 15-60 yards. Birds shot with TM18 simply quit flying and were DRT. Field dressing confirmed my birds were covered with even patterns of small pellet wounds. Pellets went completely through the game. Feathers were not drawn into the meat. I was shooting a Beretta 686 with .005/.010 chokes. This combo absolutely swats birds like a gigantic tennis racket in the sky, even at longer ranges. Not cheap but there were no cripples. | ||
