.170 Thick Nitro Card 12ga (500/bag)

Nitro cards are used as a seal or space between the powder and the plastic wad or directly underneath shot. They can be used in place of a plastic shotcup in many retro-style and English game loads.

Many modern load designs use nitro card wads inside the base of the shotcup to adjust the shot column height (for proper crimping). Nitro card wads are die cut from specialized industrial board materials. These materials are specifically selected and tested to withstand the tortures of expanding propellant gasses and heavy payloads.

These Extra-Tall Nitro cards are used with or instead of regular .125" Nitro card wads. Taller nitro card wads sometimes create a better fit for certain loads, such as those using smaller pellets for upland loads. Nitro cards are used as a seal between the powder and the shot. They can be used in place of a plastic shotcup in European-style loads. Modern load designs use nitro card wads within a shotcup for managing space. Nitro card wads are constructed of a specilized material selected to withstand the tortures of slow-burning powders and heavy payloads. (.170" thick / .740" (12ga diameter only in .170" size).
