Lawrence Copper-Plated Lead Shot (10 lb)
BPI is your truckload distributor of Lawrence shot. We offer a full selection of top-quality AMERICAN-MADE Lawrence shot. Lawrence Brand Shot is still made in Granite City, Illinois. We are proud to offer this great American product to American shooters.
Lawrence copper-plated lead shot starts with a highly polished lead core, which is alloyed with antimony to increase hardness. It is then plated with copper to enhance overall pellet hardness and spherical quality. This results in tighter patterns and deeper game penetration.Comparing Magnum, Chilled and Plated Lead Shot:
Plated shot is always superior for game loads because of better penetration and energy-transfer qualities. Plated shot also generally produces tighter patterns. Chilled lead shot is slightly softer than magnum lead shot (i.e., shot that has been alloyed with higher concentrations of antimony). Many shotgunners prefer harder magnum shot for its ability to retain a more consistent spherical form. Because chilled lead shot contains lower concentrations of antimony, which is lighter than lead, the resulting chilled shot pellet is denser than magnum shot.
Size: #4, 5, 6, and 7-1/2 (NOTE: These are approximate pellet counts and sizes. Actual measurements may vary.)
Specifications: Acceptable industry tolerances apply; expect slight variances in shot counts and diameters due to production differences.

Good shot | 6/9/2024 |
I was able to get a viable turkey pattern 30 yds with this shot using a normal field load recipe. The shot seems better than pure lead shot, and I also like how it is available in smaller quantities.

But are they round? | 12/27/2022 |
I think the verdict is still out on this latest batch of Lawrence copper plated shot. I certainly think plated lead shot is an advantage by making the shot harder, and thus less deformation and also increasing penetration on birds. But examining these pellets in some of the bags I received, some are definitely not round. Maybe Lawrence had some plating inconsistencies in this batch? Im comparing them to some older bags of copper plated shot I have, and also compared them to some premium high antimony lead shot I have, and this latest batch are not as spherical. Though I have not been to the patterning board yet, that cannot be great for tight, consistent patterns, right? Check yours out and see what you find.
