Detailed Description

GAEP Universal Skiver

Made from tempered steel and with three cutting edges the GAEP Universal Skiver is suitable for all gauges from 10 to .410. For use in a drill press or hand drill with the Universal Arbor (included).

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY:

The shotshell industry of Northern Italy is likely the oldest in the world. With the founding of major gun manufacturers, such as Beretta in 1526, cottage industry businesses sprang up around these areas. Gunsmiths, toolmakers, and ammunition specialists of all types helped to fuel innovation and invention. Like Italian cuisine, art, and architecture, ammunition and toolmaking are powered by passion and innovation. We are proud to be GAEP's appointed distributor of their fine loading products for North America. Our line of GAEP products will continue to grow and expand.

GAEP is an artisan manufacturer. Each tool requires painstaking hand-made precision. Our goal is to maintain a regular stock of as many of their products as possible. However, the logistics of their artisan production and the reality of importation from Italy means that we will have stock gaps from time to time. The best way to assure your order fulfillment is to place an order or back order. You order will not be charged until your product ships to you.

Soft steel 1/6/2024
Every single edge on the tool I received has 5-12 dents and dings in it, like it was never heat treated and has been dumped from one bin to the next for years. It’ll work, but only after a LOT of sharpening to restore the edges.

That sounds very out of the ordinary in reference to this product line. Just give our helpful customer service a call any time you see a problem.

Perfection in a skiver 8/26/2022
Ive been using this skiver for many years, and it is very easy to use and does a superb job. I use the BPI hull vise and my drill press though you can do it with a hand drill. I simply chuck it in the press and set the depth stop then lightly touch the skiver to the top of the case and you have a smooth perfectly trimmed hull ready for loading. Just be careful of the blades as they are very sharp. Wonderful tool!
